 Description

Ladys Gothic German Style Medieval Armour Set By Nauticalmart Gothic plate armour is the term for the type of steel plate armour made in the Holy Roman Empire during the 15th century. The term Gothic refers to the characteristic "German" style of this armour, specifically its decoration with fluting or ridges imitating the fashion in dress of the period. The fluting or ridges also added strength or toughness to the armour with the raised ridges. The most elaborate examples of Gothic- style armour were produced after the end of the Gothic period proper, during the German Renaissance (first half of the 16th century). Gothic armour was often combined with a helmet called a sallet, which included long and sharp rear-plate or tail that protected the back of the neck and head. While not specifically designed after a historic Gothic suit of armour our suit is made with the tradition in mind. Gothic styling showed particularly in elaborate curves ending in cusps, rippling, fluting, and file work. Our women's Gothic style armour has all that with its flute work, ridges, attached plates and rolled edges, showing a slenderness of line in keeping with traditional Gothic armours MANUFACTURED AND SOLD BY NAUTICALMART
